Capto shrink-fit chucks from Haimer
Fenn Tool now offers Haimer Capto taper toolholders, following a licence agreement between Haimer and Capto originator Sandvik Coromant.
Although Capto has been standardised (ISO 26623), so that anyone can manufacture it, Haimer purposely decided on a licence agreement with Sandvik Coromant.
In addition to the use of the protected name, this licence agreement also includes the transfer of manufacturing know-how, measuring strategies and access to measuring and testing equipment. In return, Sandvik is entitled to audit the production of the licensee at any time.
Initially, Haimer will only be manufacturing the Capto C6 size, with the Haimer Capto shrink-fit chuck available in five different lengths.
