Aluminium machining cutters

Hanita AluSurf solid carbide end mills from ITC are intended for manufacturers demanding exceptional performance in aluminium machining.

The cutters have been designed for customers producing large volumes of aluminium, and it is in large batch production that the exceptional tool life and productivity is fully exploited. The AluSurf range is effective in the full range of machine tool speeds from 3,000 to 50,000 rpm and works at optimal conditions whether applied to high speed machining, conventional milling or MQL machining. Regardless of operating speeds and feeds, the AluSurf has a wiper facet, special end gash and flute geometry that enable the series to rough and finish machine with outstanding surface finishes. Developed to guarantee high metal removal rates and outstanding surface finishes, the AluSurf series employs unique flute geometry to generate efficient chip evacuation without cutter chatter. The series is available in the 5102 and 5103 series of metric two and three flute cutters, respectively, with diameters from 1.5 to 20 mm, with the 5A02 and 5A03 designations catering for two and three-flute imperial applications from ¼ to 1 inch diameter. The new range is suitable for airframe construction and general aerospace applications, as well as the machine tool and automotive markets. The AluSurf series is available with multiple corner radii and extended neck configurations as standard that enable effective slotting up to full 1XD axial depth, side milling is effective up to 0.5XD radial by 1.5XC axial depth.
