Mitsubishi Electric Europe has appointed World Machinery as its UK distributor for laser processing machines.

World Machinery, based between Kidderminster and Bridgenorth, has been in the sheet metal processing business for over 37 years and in that time has established itself as one of the UK's leading companies in the sheet metal processing machinery. World Machinery managing director Wayne Hipkiss comments: "We pride ourselves on providing the best technology, service and support to our customers. When we examined Mitsubishi Electric's range of laser processing machines, it was clear to us that this was a partnership which would be highly beneficial to all concerned. Mitsubishi Electric has managed to create a range of laser processing machines which consume less power and gas than others in the market and yet produce an excellent finish." Global manager of Mitsubishi Electric Corporation Mr. Himi adds: "Our priority is to find partners who have the same core values, experience, and reputation as ourselves, as well as covering the whole sheet metal processing business. World Machinery is a partner that fits our criteria well and we believe this partnership will have a huge impact, redefining the UK sheet metal processing market." Mitsubishi Electric Corporation, Japan, has been a leading developer and supplier of laser processing machines to the global sheet metal processing market for over 30 years. The company claims a global market share in excess of 15%, with over 10,000 laser processing systems shipped. Mr. Himi comments: "One of the key reasons for our success in the global market was that we strived to develop the core laser processing systems in-house. For example, all of the core technologies for our resonator were developed by our own key engineers, and the CNC, control systems and servo-motion elements used in our machines are all market leading in their own right."
