Tyrolit broadens reach and product range with Radiac Abrasives purchase

Austrian abrasive products manufacturer Tyrolit has acquired American firm Radiac Abrasives.

Radiac is the second-largest manufacturer of bonded abrasives and super abrasive grinding wheels in the United States. The company will maintain its Salem, Illinois, headquarters and continue to operate manufacturing facilities in Salem and Oswego, Illinois;Marysville, Washington; and Tijuana, Mexico. Tyrolit will market Radiac as an independent brand, with the acquisition strengthening Tyrolit's market position in North America and building on the brand's strengths world-wide. Radiac is a leading manufacturer of conventional bonded and superabrasive products, taking in: creepfeed wheels; toolroom wheels; segments; centreless grinding wheels; superabrasives; diamond tools; rubber regulating wheels; rubber bond cut-off wheels; rubber grinding wheels; and coated and non-woven wheels. It offers products divided into 'Industrial Range' and 'Automotive Aftermarket'. Tyrolit is a leading world-wide manufacturer of conventional bonded and superabrasive products to the industrial metalworking, construction, and natural stone industries, and is part of the Swarovski Group, which includes Swarovski Crystal and Swarovski Optik.
