Subcontractor Pressco invests in three new Doosan Puma lathes

Dublin-based Pressco, a market-leading precision manufacturing specialist, has recently invested in three new Doosan Puma lathes supplied by Mills CNC.

The machines, a 12" chuck Puma 3100XLY and 2 by 10" chuck Puma 2600Ms, were installed at the company's facility in February 2011, and are being used to manufacture high precision complex parts from a variety of materials including difficult-to-machine metals (stainless, carbon steels, inconel, titanium, exotics etc), and engineering plastics (PEEK, Ketron etc). Established in 1967 manufacturing jigs and fixtures, the company has, over the last 40 years, grown exponentially. Through constant investment in its people, its plant and equipment, and its processes and systems, Pressco today occupies a key supply chain position in the many sectors it serves, medical, oil/gas, aerospace, electronic semi-conductors etc. "Our growth is built on providing customers with high quality, competitively priced engineered solutions; delivered on-time...every time. These are all essential pre-requisites to being a successful export-led company," explained John Hayes, business development manager at Pressco. "We have targeted specific sectors and have strengthened our position within them by expanding the services we offer." Instead of only machining, Pressco provides customers with front end services, such as component design and development, which often sees Pressco become a de facto, integral part of a customer's design team. Other 'added-value' services that help differentiate Pressco from the competition include its sophisticated inspection operation, and its recently-opened 'white room' manufacturing facility for producing Life Science (medical) parts and components.
