German grinding technology group Körber Schleifring says that Stephan Nell (pictured) is to become the new chairman of the company's Management Board.

Mr Nell, 43, joined Switzerland-based cylindrical grinding firm Studer AG in 2003 as head of sales – Studer AG is one of the grinding companies that falls within Körber Schleifring's Machine Tool Division. He has been a member of Studer's management since 2005, and has headed the management board since 2007. In February 2011, he assumed responsibility on the Körber Schleifring management board for sales, service and marketing. In his new role, Mr Nell succeeds Richard Bauer, who will focus fully on his responsibilities as chairman of the executive board of Körber AG. Körber Schleifring is also being relocated to Switzerland, which sees it moved to within the vicinity of the machine tool operating business activities. A precise date for the relocation has not yet been finalised, but is intended to take place "without undue delay". "Stephan Nell has had a decisive impact on the realignment of the Schleifring Group in recent years," stressed Mr Bauer. "I am delighted that we have been able to secure the services of this experienced manager, as an internal solution, for this challenging task." The management team of the Schleifring Group remains unchanged, with Stephan Nell and Gustel Baumert, as well as Michael Horn, Heinz Poklekowski and Dr Roland Rütti remaining in place.
