Scott Simpson appointed Trumpf UK managing director

Scott Simpson has been appointed to the position of Trumpf UK managing director, following Hartmut Pannen's returns to Trumpf Japan to spearhead customer support in the wake of the country's devastating earthquake and tsunami.

Formerly the company's technical director, Scott started his career with Trumpf as a service engineer and within 10 months became its area sales manager in Scotland. In 2000, he was promoted to general sales manager, a post he held for six years, before becoming managing director of Trumpf India. Under Scott's command, this company moved to a purpose-built facility and reached a turnover of €15 million and workforce of 50 peoplel within the space of just three years. Since his appointment as technical director at Trumpf UK last year, Scott has radically reformed the company's service programme to ensure the fast and efficient response. This element of the Trumpf operation is now the responsibility of Brian Harper, the newly confirmed national services manager, and his deputy, Tony Mattingley.
