‘Sandvik Coromant Centre’ opens in Sweden

On the 8 October, following two years of construction, Sandvik Coromant opened its global meeting place in Sandviken, Sweden. The company says that the 4,500 sq m 'Sandvik Coromant Centre' is one of the world's largest venues for productivity, application, machining and research activities. The development is part of a €22 million investment that will also see a new centre open next month in Langfang near Beijing, China.

"We have created a world class meeting place that we are convinced is needed by the manufacturing industry," says Klas Forsström, global president of Sandvik Coromant. "It is a centre for everyone who is interested in productivity gains, research innovations and the future of global manufacturing." The centre in Sandviken is a place where visitors can interact and co-operate, enabling physical and digital collaboration. It is the company's first facility of its kind and will become the standard for future Sandvik Coromant meeting places all over the world. The company estimates that the venue will attract 6,000 visitors from across the globe each year. Visitors will be able to access the latest products, engineering competence and customised solutions, as well as participate in various training activities.
