Sandvik Coromant and Precorp partnership focuses on composite machining

Sandvik Coromant and Precorp Inc have reached a cooperation agreement with the aim of being a joint solution provider for composite machining.

Sandvik Coromant and Precorp will provide products using polycrystalline diamond (PCD) vein technology and carbide solutions, as well as, application know-how for the composite industry. The PCD vein technology incorporates a precision sintered slot of PCD on to the cutting edge, improving the quality and efficiency of the tool. This partnership secures the development of innovative solutions from Sandvik Coromant and Precorp, strengthening the niche for diamond based cutting tools, particularly in the rapidly growing composite aerospace sector. During 2008 Sandvik Tooling acquired 49 per cent of the shares in Precorp Inc, which is based in Spanish Fork, Utah, USA.
