Renishaw expands network of AM Solutions Centres

To accelerate the adoption of laser powder bed fusion technology for series production, Renishaw has expanded its network of AM (additive manufacturing) Solutions Centres. Newly created facilities in Barcelona and Turin are now operational to allow companies in Spain and Italy to access Renishaw’s equipment and expertise at a fixed and predictable cost.

Launched in 2016, Renishaw’s AM Solutions Centres provide businesses with a secure development environment to build their knowledge and confidence using 3D printing technology. The facilities are equipped with the latest AM systems, including Renishaw’s multi-laser machines, alongside all the metrology, finishing and machining equipment required to make a functional part.

Renishaw AM Solutions Centres are staffed by local specialists who work closely with customers on engineering projects. The company offers support throughout the development process, so users can optimise their designs and gain the required evidence to make investment decisions.

“The AM Solutions Centres have proved to be a successful way for manufacturers to accelerate learning about this new technology,” explains Marc Saunders, director of global solutions centres at Renishaw. “Early users of the facilities who have benefitted from accessing our facilities are now deploying Renishaw’s multi-laser AM systems in their own plants. We have opened the new centres to be closer to our Spanish and Italian customers.”

Renishaw now has AM Solutions Centres operational in India, Canada, the US, China, Germany, the UK, Spain and Italy.
