Micro precision tooling specialist Rainford Precision has launched a full range of application-specific cutting tool catalogues to give a detailed insight into the vast array of high end cutting tools available.

Rainford Precision is targeting specific application areas in five separate publications to help customers quickly locate and order the desired cutting tool without the necessity of trawling through thick cumbersome product catalogues. 1) The end mill catalogue for cast iron and non-ferrous materials contains a combination of Kyocera and Union Tool square and ball nosed end mills. The selection of end mills includes cutters from 0.1 to 12 mm diameter with many ranges available in 0.05 or 0.1 mm increments. 2) The hole making catalogue contains drills from Union Tool, as well as threadmills and reamers from Kyocera. These include the C-UMD series, available from 0.1 to 2 mm diameter in 0.01mm increments and 2 to 6 mm in 0.05 mm increments, and the UTDLX series of deep hole drills with a length to diameter ratio of 15 available from 0.3 to 3 mm in 0.05 mm increments. 3) The milling catalogue contains Union Tool end mills for the milling of steel up to 70 HRc, alloy steels, titanium and copper. It contains over 21 product ranges that each incorporate a wide variety of forms, flutes, coatings, helix angles, shank diameters and lengths. This vast array of high end products is available from 0.06 to 12 mm diameter. 4) The Samurai end mill catalogue has been launched specifically for the milling of medium to hard steels. The Samurai series incorporates three ranges that offer diameters from 1 to 12 mm with corner radii of 0.3 to 3 mm. 5) The specialised applications catalogue of diamond coated Union Tool end mills is for graphite and additional abrasive materials that are commonly used in the motorsport, aerospace and medical sectors.
