Press and Shear Machinery has been appointed as sole distributor in the UK and Ireland for the Yawei-Nisshinbo range of sheet metal machinery.

A recognised name in the manufacture of turret punch presses, Nisshinbo has, it is claimed, a reputation for build quality, reliability, ease of operation and value for money, and has a large existing user base in the UK. In 2007, Japanese firm Nisshinbo set up a Sino-Japanese joint venture with Yawei, one of China's largest manufacturers of sheet metal machinery producing in excess of 3,000 machines per year at its 260,000 m2 facility in Jiangsu province, China. Main components such as the turret, auto index, gearbox and other key mechanical components are produced by Nisshinbo in Japan and assembled by Yawei, while the hydraulics are manufactured by German specialist Voith, with the control system supplied by either Siemens or Fanuc. Yawei also supplies spares for older generations of Nisshinbo machines. "Yawei-Nisshinbo products are a perfect complement to our existing ranges of sheet metal punching, shearing and bending machinery, as well as our laser, plasma and waterjet cutting equipment," said Mark Britton, managing director of Press and Shear Machinery. "Following a visit to the Yawei factory in China, I was extremely impressed with the manufacturing facility, the staff and their level of commitment to build quality and customer service." There are four models of turret punch press, HPH, HPI, HPQ and HPC, all of which offer different combinations of configuration and speed to suit the application and budget. For example, the high-end, 30-ton HPQ press can process sheet sizes from 1,250 by 1,250 up to 1,500 by 5,000 mm at hit rates up to 1,750 per minute. The mid-range HPI machine offers the same standard features, but has a maximum hit rate of 1,000 per minute. Standard equipment includes both sheet and tool lubrication, auto index stations, brush or ball tables, a bushed turret, a choice of 26, 36, 38 or 40 stations and quick die change. Among the options available are Wilson multi tools and wheel technology, programmable sheet clamps, load/unload systems and Jetcam offline programming software.
