Metallic surface preparation experts, Wheelabrator Group, is marking 100 years of technological excellence by officially opening a brand new manufacturing facility in Poland.

Now formally open and operational, the new €7million, purpose-built plant in Wrzesnia, near Poznan will manufacture a complete line of surface preparation equipment and components. The 35,000m² site will produce a full range of air and wheel blast equipment to meet local and global demands for high quality and competitively priced solutions. The new manufacturing centre is key to supporting the company’s aim of producing a range of machines with a 6 – 12 week delivery time, as well as supporting the company’s Technology Centres in the manufacture of its custom-built solutions. Wheelabrator Group worked with a specialist in industrial buildings to build the new facility, and the land was purchased from the local city council. The centre has been designed for a workforce of 250 people, spread across manufacturing, design, warehousing and administration functions. The opening of the new facility was a big event locally. During the official opening ceremony on June 6, five trees were planted and Wheelabrator Group president and CEO Robert E. Joyce Jr. presented Tomasz Kaluzny, Mayor of Wrzesnia, with a generous donation to a local kindergarden for disabled children. Local TV and media recorded the ribbon cutting ceremony and the local priest blessed the centre. Staff and their families enjoyed a picnic, bouncy castle, and dancing until midnight.
