David Wilkinson has been promoted to 600 Centre sales director, taking on the role of steering the newly enhanced product range and sales applications team.

Working with newly appointed managing director Ray Grocock, he will take the lead in negotiations with some of the leading principal companies that form the international portfolio of 600 Centre, and will manage the team of product specialists, area managers and the applications engineering team. With the re-organisation of 600 Centre to become the UK hub for the newly branded and amalgamated product range of Colchester-Harrison multi-axis turning centres, lathes and vertical machining centres, Mr Wilkinson will have overall responsibility for the Toyoda Mitsui Seiki cells and systems, Fanuc wire EDM and vertical machining centres, Okamoto grinding machines and Joemars vertical EDM. Also, taking major advantage of his turning and machining centre background he will be closely involved with the new Fuji high production lathe programme that has been incorporated into the 600 Centre portfolio recently . As sales manager of Colchestersales (UK) for some 18 months, Mr Wilkinson guided the operation to substantially increase the UK order book, break into new OEM sectors and build a healthy order book in subcontract areas. Prior to joining Colchestersales he worked on applications and technical sales for one of the UK’s leading machining centre suppliers.
