Midas Pattern Company installs second Haas VF9/50

Midas Pattern Company has strengthened its CNC vertical machining capacity by installing a second Haas VF9/50, which has a work area of 2,000 by 1,000 mm, bringing the total number of machining centres on the shopfloor to seven.

The Bedfordshire-based company, which specialises in the production of large, low-volume, high quality, polyurethane mouldings and the creation of large prototypes in production materials, specified the machine with a heavy duty, robust 50 taper spindle, which makes it ideally suited to machining both billet and cast aluminium, in addition to composite boards. Managing director Alan Rance explains the reasons for this latest purchase: "It is our commitment to achieve the fastest possible lead times for our customers - that means having the right machining capacity to be able to start work on new projects immediately. We had found our first VF9 - with its large work envelope - to be very versatile, so, with our increasing workload, the purchase of a second machine was the logical next step. I also believe our investment programme is the strongest possible proof of Midas' commitment to providing our customers with the very best quality and service."
