Under this new agreement, the Daventry-based company will assume responsibility for the sale of Nitty-Gritty's product range in the UK, which includes pre-sales technical support and stocking the Clinox ecological electrochemical cleaning units. Spare parts and consumable items will also be held by Meister Abrasives. Founded in 1995, Nitty-Gritty is a global leader in the electrochemical stainless steel surface treatment machinery market. The company's customers include stainless steel plant, machinery, tank and product manufacturers in many of the most demanding industry sectors, such as medical devices, aerospace and defence, petrochemical and process, as well as oil and gas. Its Clinox range of electrochemical machines offers cleaning and passivation of stainless steel spot, TIG, laser, resistance and orbital welds on light-weight structural components, and able to offer satin, polished, Scotch Brite and satin flower finishes, without leaving any 'halos'. Available in three sizes, the smallest Clinox machine is portable and can be transported around manufacturing workshops to clean weld scale at the point of production, which is particularly useful for large fabricated structures that are too cumbersome to move. Fitted with a manual pump on the torch, the Clinox Eco is the mid range unit while the Clinox Pro is equipped with an automated pump, as well as a vapour suction system that minimises the consumption of the Bomar electrochemical solution. Paul Batson, Meister Abrasives sales and marketing director, explains: "We will use a portable model to demonstrate in customers' facilities, while Clinox Eco and Pro units will be available at our Tooling Division, in Daventry." .
