Spanish CADCAM/manufacturing execution system (MES)/ERP software specialist Lantek says it has passed the 12,000 customer mark, following a first-half order haul that includes the winning of 800 new customers globally.

International business has seen significant growth during the first half of 2012, with particularly high growth rates recorded in many countries, including Spain, Italy, China, Korea and the USA, reports the company. The 12,000th customer, Germanic Lamator GmbH, formed in 1906 and located in Torgau, Germany manufactures agricultural machinery and implements. Following the installation of a CNC laser and punching machine, it installed Lantek Expert to maximise material utilisation and generate CNC code for the new machine, together with Lantek Integra to optimise its management processes. This milestone underscores the continuous and steady growth achieved by Lantek over recent years, with the latest growth driven, says the company, by latest product developments and service enhancements, together with an expansion into new sectors such as structural steel and steel stockholding, plus the company's commitment to expansion in emerging markets and a strategy for establishing technological alliances leading to new, innovative products. Lantek achieved an increase in turnover of 14% during 2011 as a result of these strategies and has recently strengthened its international coverage by opening several new branches including one in Wuhan, China. The plan for 2012 is on target and is expected to close with a further increase in turnover, of 13%, and see the company claim 13,000 customers - in line with the company's strategic plan for 2011-2013. A breakdown by regions shows Spain with 2,000 customers, Italy 1,612, Korea 1,137, China 1,052 followed by France, Brazil, Germany, USA, UK, Turkey Portugal and Poland, all of which have a high concentration of industrial users. New customers in the UK include C Brown and Sons (Steel) Ltd, MACFAB Ireland, JCB Heavy Products, Rittal CSM and CabAuto, all of who have chosen Lantek solutions to automate their machines and optimise their production.
