Kyocera acquires BTF and GSB

Kyocera Unimerco (KUA), a German manufacturer of carbide cutting tools, BFT Hartmetall Werkzeuge GmbH & Co. KG and a manufacturer of oscillation knife drives, GSB GmbH have signed a share transfer agreement for KUA to acquire 100% of the shares of BFT and GSB.

Kyocera Unimerco offers complete solutions for tool manufacturing, including a wide range of cutting tools and services. The focus is on indexable tools and PCD, solid carbide round tools for milling, drilling, and turning applications.

BFT, on the other hand, was founded in 1987 and has long been known for producing high precision carbide tools for oscillation machining, which are widely used in industries such as aerospace, automotive, packaging, engineering and textile industries etc. Founded in 2018, GSB produces oscillating knife drives, which are used with BFT tools.

Kyocera Unimerco said it will welcome BFT and GSB into the group and use their expertise in oscillation machining to expand the capability and offer customers a wider range of products.
