Newcastle under Lyme-based sheet metalworking subcontractor KMF (Precision Sheet Metal) has maintained the prestigious Silver SC21 aerospace accreditation, after undergoing its first annual assessment since winning the award last year.

The 2012 certificate was presented to KMF's business development manager, Lyndon Royall, by Rolls-Royce's global supply chain executive, Andy Page, at the A.D.S Pavilion at Farnborough Air Show. "This ongoing accreditation to SC21 Silver is confirmation of the commitment of everyone at KMF towards building on the work we are doing for customers in the aerospace sector. We have made a major investment in the KMF Advanced Solutions and we are seeing turnover growth from existing customers and an increase in serious inquiries for potential new business," says Mr Royall. KMF is one of just 29 UK businesses awarded SC21 at the Silver level and, while it is not a compulsory requirement, the work involved in gaining the recognition of SC21 is playing a major role in opening doors to new business for the company from the aerospace community. KMF's Advanced Solutions facility, which was only opened 18 months ago, was created as a stand-alone business unit specifically to cater for the aerospace, medical and other demanding industry sectors.
