Industrial Tooling Corporation appoints application engineer to support Northern area technical sales engineers

Industrial Tooling Corporation (ITC) has appointed Gary Murrey as an application engineer to support the sales efforts of both Northern area technical sales engineers Jason Clark and Gary Heaney.

Gary Heaney and Jason Clark have both been with ITC for many years and a combination of their sales performance, the addition of new UK-manufactured cutting tool ranges from ITC, extended Widia product lines and the continual addition of BIG Kaiser technology has seen sales in the region rocket.

Ideally located in the Wigan area, Murrey has almost 30 years’ manufacturing experience that has included an apprenticeship as a machinist at shipbuilder Vosper Thornycroft and lengthy periods as a 5-axis machinist and programmer with GE Aviation, a production and applications engineer with the 600 Group, a senior manufacturing engineer at VTL and almost five years as a technical sales engineer for cutting tool manufacturers and distributors in the North West. This experience has provided him with extensive insight into the challenges of the aerospace, ship building and automotive sectors, whilst his more recent career path has seen the new recruit apply his knowledge to provide technical solutions to the respective industry sectors.

Commenting upon Murrey’s appointment, ITC’s managing director, Peter Graves, says: “ITC has grown beyond recognition in the last five years, with sales of our UK-manufactured cutting tool solutions growing exponentially. Added to this, we are working ever closer with partners Widia and BIG Kaiser to introduce more innovations and to supply a ‘complete cutting tool solution’. Our ability to deliver ever more extensive high value technical solutions has facilitated increased sales and to support this, we have a necessity to support customers with the appropriate level of support.

“ITC has always prided itself on the turnaround times of UK-manufactured standard and special tools and this is underpinned by unparalleled levels of service. Having an engineer of Gary’s calibre and background will certainly enhance customer support levels and also provide end-users in the area with a platform for improved machining and cutting tool performance. Gary will work in close collaboration with the technical sales engineers to establish relationships and create a foundation for the next step in ITC’s growth strategy.”
