In-Comm TMG open house will help manufacturers ‘Brexit-proof’ their business

‘Brexit proofing’ for manufacturing businesses will be the main focus of the next In-Comm Training and Manufacturing Group (TMG) open house on 21 May. Bosses from the region’s industrial sector will have the opportunity to hear from FBC Manby Bowdler’s Peter Wilding, the man credited with inventing the word ‘Brexit’. Wilding will talk about the challenges facing companies and explore issues such as importing and exporting, tariffs, compliance, and employment.

Delegates to the open house will also be able to tour In-Comm Training’s Technical Academy in Aldridge, which features manufacturing technology worth over £3 million.

“There continues to be a lot of uncertainty around Brexit and the implications it will have on UK businesses,” says Wilding. “We are hearing that many are suspending plans to grow their workforce, cutting back on investment and feel unprepared for the challenges which lie ahead. However, with the right expertise and knowledge there are many things companies can be doing to put themselves ahead of the game. During recent months we’ve been working with industry to provide advice on how to plan for Brexit, as well as complete the complex administration tasks that lie ahead.”

In-Comm TMG is a consortium of like-minded businesses bound together by a common vision to improve skills and productivity in the UK.
