GTMA and PMMMA join forces

The Gauge and Toolmakers' Association (GTMA) and The Pattern Model and Mould Manufacturers' Association (PMMMA) are joining forces in order to provide increased services to members and to further raise the profile of the industries they represent.

Under the new arrangement PMMMA will maintain its own identity, while coming under the umbrella of the GTMA. GTMA and PMMMA members are vital links in the supply chain for companies in many manufacturing sectors, to whom GTMA provides specialist information on sourcing suppliers. In addition, the association also assists members through business development programmes, best practice assessments, technology updates and marketing support. “This is a natural step for both associations to take as our members have much in common, in terms of technology, markets and business challenges," said Nik Tipler, GTMA president. "In fact, several members of PMMMA were already active members of GTMA, including Midas Pattern Company, NPL Technologies and Rojac. By joining together we will all become stronger and, on behalf of GTMA and its members I wholeheartedly welcome PMMMA and its members as part of the team.” Haydn Parkin, president of PMMMA, said: “We believe this is an excellent outcome for both associations and all our member companies. The final agreement is the result of extensive debate and consultation with our council, during which we looked at a number of alternative collaborative working options – of which this was clearly both the most practical and the most advantageous. By establishing common ground and working together for the benefit of the wider membership we can provide a more comprehensive service to members.” Pictured: Left - Nik Tipler, GTMA president; Right - Haydn Parkin, PMMMA president
