Filtermist International expands LEV testing service and more

Telford-based air filtration and extraction specialist Filtermist International is boosting its local exhaust ventilation (LEV) systems testing activities, and more, through the addition of experienced personnel.

The previous managing director of Plasteel Services, Jamie Allen, will now deliver LEV testing and a range of other services through Filtermist. This move follows Plasteel Services founder Arthur Moss’ retirement.

Plasteel was located in nearby Bridgnorth and previously supported design, installation, commissioning and maintenance of: dust control systems; ventilation systems; filtration equipment; and welding fume extraction units.

Filtermist operates a dedicated service division that supports both planned and responsive maintenance for all makes and models of air filtration and extraction equipment, providing LEV testing for all types of systems.

The company’s director of sales, Stuart Plimmer, says: “Filtermist is extremely well known in the manufacturing industry right across the UK. We are confident that combining Filtermist’s resources with Plasteel’s expertise will offer all of our customers a number of benefits.”

Adds Allen: “LEV Testing by a competent person and the provision of compliant reports is vital for anyone that has an LEV system. Filtermist is accredited by SafeContractor and provides COSHH-compliant testing for all types of LEV system – no matter what make or model.”

COSHH (Control of Substances Hazardous to Health) regulations specify that most LEV systems should be tested every 14 months.
