Faro Laser Line Probe HD makes UK debut
Faro Technologies gave a UK exhibition debut to its Laser Line Probe HD at the recent TCT show in Birmingham. This high definition 3D scanner in being used in combination with the Faro Edge portable arm to create the Faro Edge ScanArm HD contact/non-contact measuring system.
Along with rapid point cloud collection, the Faro Edge ScanArm HD is said to give users the ability to scan across diverse surface materials regardless of contrast, reflectivity or part complexity, without any special coatings or target placement.
The extra wide scan stripe and fast frame rate boosts productivity by increasing coverage and reducing scanning time, says Faro, while intricate components can be captured in fine detail as a result of the 2,000 actual points per scan-line.
It is claimed that users can reduce training time with the newly developed crosshair feature and existing LED Rangefinder functionality, which provides real-time scanning feedback.
