Delcam continues to be the world's largest specialist supplier of CAM software and services, says the latest NC Software Market Analysis Report from leading US analyst CIMdata.

The UK-headquartered but Autodesk Inc-owned software firm employs over 700 staff, which, it says, is over 100 people more than Vero Software and more than twice the 292 employees at third-placed Cimatron. In addition, well over 100 more people are employed in Delcam's Joint Venture companies in Europe and Asia. The largest of these companies, Delcam's successful Korean Joint Venture, Hankook Delcam, has over 50 staff. The CIMdata Report also confirms that Delcam still lays claim to the largest development team in the industry, with 224 people working on the company's manufacturing software. This is almost 50% more developers than the 150 staff employed in development by second-ranked company Vero Software, the company points out. And Delcam continued its growth during 2013 by adding more than 50 extra staff to its international workforce. On the sales side, CIMdata reveals that Delcam was again able to increase its market share, in terms of direct revenue. The company's share of vendor direct revenues grew from 7.3% in 2012 to 7.7% in 2013. A further increase in market share to 8.1% is predicted by CIMdata for Delcam in 2014. And Delcam's PowerMILL family of software is reported as to remain the best-selling specialist machining brand by direct revenue.
