Cutwel takes on Simtek tool range, and visits Benz

UK & Ireland nationwide tooling supplier Cutwel has become an agent for Simtek Praezisionswerkzeuge, a German manufacturer of high precision internal and external machining systems.

With more than 12,700 tools available, Simtek manufactures tools to cover almost any application, such as grooving, threading, boring, turning, milling and also offers special requests too. The Simturn range includes various tooling systems for internal and external applications. Product ranges are organised by bore diameters, such as the AX (Alpha Line) system for internal machining in bores from 0.3 mm up to 10 mm or the E3 system for larger bores up to 80 mm. Another highlight from the range is Simmill, which uses solid micrograin carbide milling cutters with multiple cutting edges for groove milling, chamfer milling, thread milling and keyway milling. Simtek's new 700 page catalogue is now available from Cutwel.

Cutwel also offers news of another of its tooling suppliers, Benz. Two Cutwel technical team members experienced new LinA broaching units for CNC lathes and machining centres firsthand when they attended a technical conference at the Benz factory in Haslach, Germany. The LinA system works as a driven tooling unit and can be used on almost any CNC lathe or machining centre with live tooling. Numerous types of machining can be done to make splines, gears, keyways, hexagons and sprockets, without any special programming.

Benz also supplies an individual broaching tool that can be adapted to most CNC machining centres that reduces machine tool loads, prevents machine tool wear and preserves machine tool bearings.
