A number of strong enquiries for Colchester and Harrison manual lathes, Alpha Manual/CNC lathes and Tornado CNC turning centres has resulted from 600 UK's distributor for Switzerland, Josef Binkert AG of Wallisellen, exhibiting at the Prodex machine tool exhibition held in the Basel Messe from 20 to 23 November.

This is a reflection of the strong machine tool demand in Switzerland's education and industrial sectors, reports 600 UK. Prodex also hosted the Swiss national Worldskills qualifying event, organised by the Swissmechanic Training Organisation. Two Colchester Tornado T6M CNC machines and two Colchester Master VS3250 centre lathes were, as in recent years, used by the competitors, further demonstrating Colchester and Harrison's continuing commitment to apprentice training and industrial education sectors worldwide. Howard Bamforth, 600 UK's sales director, said: "Prodex is usually a great show for Colchester and Harrison lathes, and this one proved to more than live up to expectations, with the overall levels of visitor activity in the halls, those who visited the Joseph Binkert stand and the Worldskills National Championships being exceptionally high. The championships are for today's talented apprentices to become the skilled engineers of tomorrow and they are using Colchester and Harrison lathes to help attain their goal. The levels of genuine enquiries have been outstanding and this is testament to both our strong distributor relationships throughout Europe and also the outstanding quality, reliability and value that the Colchester and Harrison lathe range gives to our customers."
