Carl Zeiss acquires optical and sensor measurement specialist

Wolf & Beck offers customised solutions in the field of image analysis, and laser package solutions for co-ordinate measuring machines for optical scanning. The range of products is supplemented by various optical sensors and data capture software, as well as the integration of sensors in special systems. Focus is placed on solutions that require interdisciplinary know-how from the fields of optics, precision engineering, electronics, micro-processor technology and software. This includes optical 1D, 2D, and 3D sensors for the recognition of form and colour, preparation of measured data and the corresponding mechanical components. The range of tasks includes consultation on problem analysis to the production of complete systems. The two companies have already worked together. The latest product is O-INSPECT (pictured), a multi-sensor measuring machine. It was specially developed for the quality assurance and initial sampling of small, complex parts in the plastics industry, medical and automobile technology and precision mechanics.
