Bowers to hold materials testing seminar in September

Bowers Metrology will show off its new Camberley, Surrey demonstration suite on 16 September when it holds a materials testing seminar. It will give customers an insight into the principles of hardness testing, an overview of the solutions available from Bowers and then an afternoon hands-on workshop.

On show will be the new Falcon 500 series, a new advanced Vickers hardness testing system from Innovatest. The series has the option of overview & full view autofocus zoom cameras with additional surface illumination which gives an overview or full view of the sample or samples to be tested. A feature allows random test point selection on the screen, while the high speed motorized X-Y stage perfectly positions the selected test point under the indenter and measuring objective.

Other equipment available include bore gauging and precision hand tools from Bowers and Moore & Wright, with non-contact measurement from Baty International. Swiss-manufactured measuring instruments from Sylvac and Trimos with inclination systems from Wyler are available to experience first-hand. There are also surface, form and roundness solutions from Accretech, along with inspection solutions for the oil and gas sector from Gagemaker.

With what is said to be the largest selection of portable and bench hardness testers currently available within the UK, Bowers Group has evolved into an all-inclusive materials testing quality instrument supplier, with cost effective solutions to coating thickness, surface finish and many other disciplines now available.
