Australian firm ANCA notches up top export award

Australian grinding machine specialist ANCA was a winner at the 50th Australian Export Awards, hosted at Parliament House in Canberra by Australian Trade Minister Craig Emerson.

Director Pat Boland accepted the Large Advanced Manufacturer award, which the company also won in 1995. Austrade State Director for Tasmania and Victoria Margaret Bounader, said: "ANCA is an outstanding example of successful, export-focused manufacturing. "ANCA exports 98% of its products and has built its reputation through innovation and a commitment to research and development." The quality of new products released this year, such as the MX5 tool grinder, and the high number of engineers employed by the company, which exceeds one hundred, is offered as testament to this commitment. Mr Boland said: "We were pleased to receive the award, as it is recognition for the dedication of our employees. ANCA staff are very passionate about our products and helping our customers." Established in 1974, ANCA is a manufacturer of high quality CNC tool and cutter grinders. ANCA has a headquarters based in Melbourne, Australia and a global network of overseas offices and agents. ANCA supplies to the automotive, aerospace, medical and electronics sectors, s well as cutting tool manufacturers. Customers include companies such as Boeing, General Electric, Sandvik, Rolls-Royce and Johnson and Johnson. ANCA achieved a 19% increase in export sales during 2011/12 and has been significantly increasing the number of employees over recent years.
