Apprentice training programme at Dawson Shanahan proves a hit

Precision engineering specialist Dawson Shanahan has filled all places on its apprentice training programme following an overwhelming response from young prospective engineers.

More than 30 applied for a place in Dawson Shanahan’s engineering training school. But, with four places available, it has awarded places to three first year apprentices and one Level 3 apprentice.

The four new apprentices will start at the end of August and develop the skills, knowledge and experience required for the world of engineering. This takes the overall number of apprentices currently on the programme to eight.

Says joint managing director Les Reeves: “Everyone here at Dawson Shanahan is absolutely delighted with the incredible demand we’ve experienced for our apprentice training programme. We received many strong applications, from which we’ve carefully selected four apprentices.

“It’s great to see so many young people want to enter engineering. We’re at capacity at the moment, but we hope to increase the number of places we can offer in the future.”
