Amada forecasts global sales rising 27%

Japanese machine tool builder Amada is forecasting sales of some £1.5 billion (¥242 billion) for the period April 2013 to March 2014. The figure represents growth of more than 27% on the previous 12-month period.

Amada's sales for April 2012 to March 2013 were £1.18 billion (¥190.1 billion), with sales in the first six months of this current financial year, April 2013 to September 2013, stated as £682 million (¥110 billion). Sales for the that 6-month period saw sheet metal processing machinery (including punch presses, laser profilimg and press brakes) account for 70% of sales, bandsaws 13%, other machine tools 5.8% (grinding, milling), presses 3% and other 0.6%.
