A new technical and training centre has been created by Allied Maxcut at its UK-based European headquarters in Kingswinford. The new set-up is to provide distributors and customers with detailed information, tooling trials and application testing as well as training on the company’s complete product range. The centrepiece of the facility is a new YMC – MV66A CNC multi-axis machining centre, which is dedicated to the training school, allowing detailed practical instruction on machine setting, speeds feeds and coolant flows in a range of manufacturing, conditions, characteristics and operating parameters. In addition, the centre has three separate lecture and syndicate rooms for the theoretical aspects of tooling and production engineering, as well as a relaxation area for informal discussions. “This is a significant and very worthwhile investment for us as it’s vital that production engineers, distributors and sales people are fully conversant with our high performance tooling and how to optimise the benefits they deliver in terms of productivity, tool life and manufacturing cost," said Managing Director, Rod Crawford. "The new facility also allows us to launch and demonstrate new products to distributors and sales personnel so they can provide detailed advice and support to their customers from day one. “The level of interest we’ve received whilst we have been developing the centre, has been very high, particularly from the UK, Germany and Italy. We now have a complete scheduled of courses in place for 2007, which combine detailed product information and on-machine training.” The range of courses available cover key product groups, including its TA and Gen-2 TA systems, thread mills, deep hole drilling and reaming as well as the new Gen3Sys high penetration drilling system.
