Air of optimism at Open House

Citizen Machinery UK's recent Open House at its headquarters in Watford drew some 150 visitors.

The number attending was " significantly more than were expected, based on market conditions", reported the company. "Discussions with both OEMs and sub-contractors over the three days confirmed that industry had 'bottomed-out' and there was an air of positive thinking for the future," said Geoff Bryant, managing director of Citizen Machinery UK. Visitors were able to see a range of both Citizen sliding-head and Miyano fixed-head lathe technology, with Citizen Machinery UK taking orders for four Citizen CNC sliding-head turn-mill centres. Customers were also able to discuss the newly launched adaptive guide bush, now available for Citizen machines. The bushing is able to accommodate material with a size variance between ± 0.1 mm on diameter.
