Seco Tools (UK) composites machining event

Seco Tools (UK) is holding a 'Machining Carbon Composites' awareness and best practice seminar on Wednesday, 16 May 2012 at its Technical Centre facility in Alcester.

The free one-day event, featuring key note presentations from industry and academic experts, as well as a number of machining demonstrations taking place on the company's state-of-the-art machine tools, is aimed at those who already machine composites, but who want to do it better and more efficiently, as well as those manufacturers who want to get up to speed with the latest developments. Topics covered will include machining high precision aerospace components; the challenges of and strategies to employ when machining uni-directional carbon lay-ups; and the relative merits of PCD tools and diamond-coated tungsten carbide tools when machining composites. Places are limited and are provided on a first come – first served basis. Those wishing to attend can register online by visiting www.secotools.com/uk/composites
