Yamazaki Mazak's Open House this month – 20-23 November at the company's European Technology Centre in Worcester - will use state-of-the-art augmented reality technology to demonstrate the future of manufacturing to visitors.
Augmented reality technology, which triggers additional information when a smart device, such as an iPhone or iPad, is pointed at an object or reaches a location, will be used to guide visitors around the Open House.

Multiple trigger points, strategically situated in the Mazak Solutions Gallery and the European Technology Centre, will bring the Open House to life and offer extra information about specific machines on display. Prior to the Open House, visitors will be able to download the augmented reality app free of charge from the Mazak website. Machine users interested in attending the Open House should visit www.mazak.eu/ar for registration details, further information on augmented reality and the machines being displayed. The Open House will feature 20 machines in live cutting action, along with application experts on hand to offer advice and guided tours of one of Europe's most efficient factories. Richard Smith, managing director UK & Ireland Sales Division, commented: "November's Open House will offer visitors a glimpse into the future of manufacturing. Never before has so much modern machining technology been presented in such an innovative way. Augmented reality will bring to life the capabilities of some of the most exciting machines in our range, many of which are UK built. I would urge any production engineer or subcontractor who has not visited our European Technology Centre in Worcester to make a visit to our November Open House a priority."
