Inspection, Traceability And Code Reading From STEMMER IMAGING - Stand 5050, MACH 2012, NEC, UK, 16-20 April, 2012

With tracking and traceability a key element in many manufacturing industries, STEMMER IMAGING will be showing an extensive range of camera technologies and systems for code reading, verification and traceability, as well as traditional inspection applications. As Europe's largest independent supplier of vision technology and services to OEMs, system Integrators and reseller markets, STEMMER IMAGING will be showing smart cameras including 3D smart cameras, multipoint intelligent inspection systems and linescan cameras demonstrating code reading capabilities at over 1200 parts/minute.

BOA smart cameras from Teledyne DALSA are robust, compact, fully integrated intelligent vision systems designed for harsh environment factory floor deployment. The BOA IDR version combines 1D barcode, 2D matrix and character reading and verification with pattern recognition capabilities in a single unit for checking barcodes, 'best before' dates, lot numbers and even logos. The BOA Pro version has the powerful Sherlock software on board, previously only available on PC-controlled systems. Sherlock offers maximum design flexibility and can be applied to a wide variety of automated inspection applications. It provides a rich suite of capabilities that include reader identification tools for reading and verifying 1D and 2D codes as well as alphanumerics. For simultaneous label inspections at different locations, the powerful GEVA dual core industrial controller can easily support up to eight mono or colour, area and line scan GigE cameras in a range of resolutions. On show with multiple Genie GigE area scan cameras, GEVA will also be running the Sherlock label inspection application. High resolution label inspection systems using linescan cameras will also be on show. Again utilising Sherlock software, this can be configured to read multiple regions of the label simultaneously. High resolution linescan technology gives enhanced response and fast line rates to allow OCR and bar code reading on labels at rates over 1200 parts per minute. The smart camera display is completed with the Gocator smart 3D camera from LMI Technologies Inc. Now featuring whole part feature measurement capabilities, Gocator can perform volumetric measurements such as volume, centroid, orientation, etc to provide information on dimensions, location, and orientation, as well as offering 2D surface imaging.
