QwikStak has been developed to provide a simple and cost-effective method of converting larger clamping systems, such as Chick's 1550 series QwikLok and MultiLok HMC units, into high density workholding systems for small components. Incorporating a precise 50 mm alphanumeric grid of 12 mm diameter bushed and tapped holes, QwikStak provides positive and repeatable location of a wide variety of secondary clamping units. In addition, the unit's holes are sealed by removable chip plugs to prevent the build up of swarf. Up to 10 Chick QwikLok 50 mm units can be mounted on each QwikStak, creating 20 clamping positions in a single set-up. Alternatively, six QwikLoks can be mounted longitudinally for use in horizontal machining centre applications. A right angle drive option is also available to overcome restricted access in closely nested configurations. Through its ability to be removed and remounted on the base unit in seconds, QwikStak also provides an effective pallet changing system. It can also be easily secured to standard T-slotted machine tool tables for stand-alone use. QwikLok units feature a dual-station clamping action that provides secure component location and the units are available in six sizes from 50 mm to 150 mm for both horizontal and vertical machining centre work. They feature snap-in reversible jaws for fast changeovers, as well as corrosion resistant stainless steel slide assemblies for a long service life.
