Walter solid milling cutter features corner radius and reduced neck diameter

For the first time, Walter GB has introduced a solid milling cutter with a corner radius and reduced diameter neck to enable improved access to component features at varying depths. In addition, the Perform MC232 cutter is said to offer improved tool life, especially on ISO P, M and K classification materials.

The MC232 joins other solid milling cutters in the Perform range, which also includes types without reduced necks or corner radii.

Walter’s Perform range, which is now available in 126 different dimensions of 2-20 mm diameter, can be used for all typical milling applications, including lateral milling, full slotting, pocket milling, helical plunging and ramping. The series is suitable for a variety of materials and milling strategies. In addition, Perform cutters can utilise Walter's WJ30ED grade coating, which is said to provide a high level of wear resistance.
