Ultra-precise, high-speed, 5-axis Toyoda Mitsui Seiki Vertex 550-5X

Close tolerance, high-speed, 5-axis machining is supported by the Toyoda Mitsui Seiki Vertex 550-5X universal vertical machining centre. It combines a high-speed 25,000 rpm spindle with 48 m/min feed rate in x, y and z axes, has high accuracy linear scale positioning, 'A1' contour control, ultra-fast data server function, and tilted plane machining command software. Parts up to 500 mm diameter by 424 mm high are accepted in the machine which sees all slideways located above the machining area. Heidenhain linear scales are fitted as standard ensuring a positional accuracy of + 0.001 mm. To further stabilise the machine accuracy temperature compensation is a standard fitment. Other machine features include: 40-tool position chain-type horizontal tool magazine; trunnion unit a-axis with + 15 to – 105 degrees of rotation; 360 degrees worktable able to rotate at 50 rpm; 350 kg part weight capacity; Fanuc 31i CNC.
