Starrett Core Ejector improves hole sawing process

LS Starrett’s Core Ejector tool is two-part device that addresses a common problem for machine shops by removing the disc of material that would usually remain inside the hole-saw after it has completed the cut.

The spring-based Core Ejector, which can be installed simply by twisting the spring over the hole-saw’s pilot drill, comprises a tapered spring and an aluminium pressure plate. As the saw cuts into the material, the pressure plate begins to compress the spring. When the saw breaks through the material, the spring will act on the pressure and push the core out of the saw before it becomes trapped.

Core Ejector is suitable for ferrous and non-ferrous metal, glass-reinforced plastic (GRP) and composite materials. The range begins with the small KA8-1 Core Ejector for saws between 20 and 24 mm in diameter, and increases to the largest KA8-6, which span from 133 to 210 mm in diameter.
