Mollart offers deep hole, BTA and milling combination machines

The development of a range of combination machines by Mollart that enable deep hole drilling requirements to be integrated into a single production cycle involving processes normally performed on a machining centre not only improves productivity but also allows higher levels of geometrical relationships between features.

There are now four basic machine platform configurations in the series, following the initial development of the 6-axis FMC. This introduction machine allowed the production of cooling holes in moulds, for instance, as well as heat exchanger plates, holes in cylinders used in rolling mills, and complex multi-featured components such as hydraulic manifolds.

Since then, progressive development has led to the 3- and 4-axis Matrix Prismatic DHD; the moving-column, heavier duty 5-axis Prismabore (which is able to combine BTA and larger gundrilled holes); and the 5-axis Centreplex dual spindle machine.
