Available versions offer two different levels of accuracy, 0.005 mm or 0.010 mm, with respective resolutions of 0.001 mm and 0.005 mm. The MG232 is capable of achieving traverse speeds of 2 m/s at 0.001 mm resolution, or up to 10 m/s at 0.005 mm resolution. These speeds make it suitable for high speed mill, lathe or grinding machine operations, either as OEM first fit or retrofit applications and the encoders are fully compatible with many leading brands of digital readout (DRO). Manufactured in accordance with ISO 9001:2000, the measuring lengths of MG232 encoders range between 120 mm and 2,040 mm, with a reference mark every 50 mm. Customised reference mark options are available on request. Offering the same ease of mounting as traditional optical linear encoders and the same mechanical footprint as slim optical encoders, the low profile MG232 encoders can be installed, quickly and easily, by anyone experienced with optical systems. Available with an IP67 rating means the linear encoders offer robustness and are capable of running in harsh shop floor working environments without suffering from oil, dust or coolant ingress, and they can even run fully submerged. A scale cover is included as standard, while for extra assurance the cable is available with double locking stainless steel protective armour.
