C-series of Hermle vertical machining centres extended

Hermle has launched a smaller 3-/5-axis model with axis travels of 600 by 450 by 450 mm (x, y, z) - C 20 U. The machine has a working volume around two thirds that of the next larger machine in the range. Maximum component weight is 300 kg for the 5-axis version; 1,000 kg for the fixed-table, 3-axis version of the machine. In this case, an optional, CNC rotary indexing head can be built into one side of the bed to provide 4-axis machining capability.
