Big bore chuck addition
Kitagawa Europe has extended its range of large through-hole power chucks with the introduction of the 3-jaw BB221.
Suitable for components measuring up to 530 mm diameter, the new chuck incorporates a 166.5 mm diameter through hole, making it ideal for large diameter bar work, as well as heavy duty turning operations.
The BB221 also has a jaw stroke of 10.6 mm and maximum grip of 210 kN, allowing it to be used at speeds of up to 2000 rpm.
Weighing 228 kg, the chuck has an inertia of 7.71 kg.m2 and operates at a maximum hydraulic pressure of 2.37 MPa.
It is the fifth member of Kitagawa's BB series of large through-hole chucks, which allows components down to 19 mm diameter to be machined at speeds of up to 6000 rpm.
