XYZ hits its targets at EMO

XYZ Machine Tools had two key aims during its attendance at the recent EMO exhibition in Hanover, the first to bring to a wider audience the advances made with the latest development of its ProtoTRAK control system for mills and lathes, and the second to identify potential new distributors for its machines across mainland Europe. On both counts, the company reports mission accomplished.

“Our sales across Europe have been growing significantly over the past few years and EMO was an opportunity to reinforce our presence in these markets,” says Howard Bamforth, export sales director at XYZ Machine Tools. “The arrival of the new RMX and RLX ProtoTRAK controls created a focal point for visitors and highlighted how easy it is to switch from manual to CNC. I have to say, the level of interest that these controls received was exceptional, and bodes well for sales in the coming months.”

Comments on the new ProtoTRAK controls centred round its simplicity and ease-of-use, with emphasis on the touchscreen interface and level of information available at the operator’s fingertips.

The second target for XYZ Machine Tools was to use EMO as a platform to bring new distribution partners on-board. Throughout the week of the exhibition there was significant interest from potential partners across Europe.

“The number of companies that came on the stand to discuss possible collaborations was very encouraging, more so was the fact that many had done their homework on XYZ Machine Tools and understood what we stood for in terms of providing cost-effective metal-cutting solutions to a wide range of customers, many of which may not have used CNC equipment previously,” says Bamforth. “The step up from manual to CNC is a straightforward and efficient process with us, whether it’s taking that step with the ProtoTRAK control, or the alternative control systems that we offer on our machining and turning centres.”
