EMO 2017 heading for a record

With less than a year to go to EMO Hanover, Germany – 18-23 September 2017 -- more than 1,700 exhibitors from 40 different countries have booked a stand area totalling 152,000 sq m.

This level of bookings is “significantly” above bookings for the previous event at this stage, according to the organisers; EMO 2013 ended up with 2,100 exhibitors over 180,000 m2.

“It looks very much as if the EMO Hannover 2017 will end up with a record number of exhibitors,” declares EMO general commissioner Carl Martin Welcker.

Welcker argues that the increase is due to its return to Hanover from Milan, an early-booking offer (now closed), and increasing interest from Asian companies, who now account for more than a fifth of EMO exhibitors.

The show’s slogan is “Connecting systems for intelligent production”, and indeed there will be an industry 4.0 area. Welcker adds: "Although there is no product called Industry 4.0, trade visitors will be encountering digitisation and networking at the fair in multifarious manifestations."

They will appear alongside metal-cutting and forming machine tools, production systems, high-precision tools, automated material flows, computer technology, industrial electronics and accessories.
