Rodmatic sets up office to support oil and gas industry

Sub-contract manufacturer Rodmatic has created a specialist sector office in Glasgow to represent its expanding sub-contract machining business in the oil and gas industry and to provide a direct support service to Scotland and the North of England.

The extension to the Reading-based machining operations of Rodmatic Multico, the higher volume production machining facility and Rodmatic Hytek the small to medium batch capability using the latest CNC technology, is to be run by James Eadie (pictured), appointed as business development manager, and who brings some 15 years' experience in the sector. “To service this sector, you need local customer support, but most important to have in-depth knowledge of the industry and to be able to co-ordinate our production expertise with customer requirements,” said Brian Steatham, chairman of Rodmatic Ltd. James Eadie, who is 46, has a background in fluid control systems and the provision of mechanical, electrical and instrumental service operations to offshore companies. His expertise also includes ‘deep hole’ tooling, oil rig pumps, valves and actuation devices, as well as supply of service equipment.
