Oil business win

Rotherham-based Newburgh Engineering has secured two new contracts, worth more than £2 million a year.

It won business from oil industry leader Sondex Wireline to create a device that checks the condition of oil pipe walls and has also gained a new agreement with Vetco Gray Controls to produce and supply a maintenance-free control valve for oil wells. The family-owned company was launched in Bradwell, Derbyshire, in 1939, and has grown quickly in the last few years, setting up a new site in Rotherham and creating skilled jobs and apprenticeships for the region.
