MTA membership highest in over a decade

The Manufacturing Technologies Association (MTA) membership grew by almost a third in the last year with the number of members now over 250, its highest level for over a decade.

“This impressive growth in members in the last year shows that entrepreneurs in manufacturing technologies recognise that the MTA is a vibrant and effective trade association, which can represent their views and help them in their businesses. We are confident that this growth in companies wanting to join MTA will continue into 2008 and beyond,” said MTA president, Geoff Lloyd. MTA is working for its members in six key areas: [] Encouraging the Government in what it does and what it says, that “manufacturing is important” [] Create a commercially attractive and globally competitive environment [] Help business to create a skilled workforce [] Educate young people in practical science subjects [] Create real financial incentives to invest continually in plant, equipment, people and skills [] Make exporting attractive and easy to do These key messages are driven home whenever MTA meets members of the Government, politicians or people in the media. As in recently when Lord Jones of Birmingham Minister for Trade and Investment was the guest of MTA when he visited the 43 British companies at the largest show for Manufacturing Technologies in the world at Hannover Messe in Germany (pictured).
